D20-LTIC SUMMIT, DUBAI, 2 DECEMBER 2023

The 2023 D20-LTIC Summit took place in Dubai, UAE, on 2nd December 2023, back to back with the UN Climate Conference COP28.

The CEOs of the D20 – Long Term Investors Club (D20-LTIC) met for their annual Steering Committee meeting. The Club, founded in 2009, brings together the leading public development banks from the G20 countries. During its meeting, the CEOs elected Mr Aloizio Mercadante from the Brazilian Development Bank BNDES as new Co-President. BNDES will be also the host of the 2024 annual meeting in Brazil – in line with the Brazilian G20 Presidency. The Club also welcomed the Development Bank of South Africa (DBSA) as new member.

The CEOs received an update of the ongoing work of the Club, latest climate developments from COP28 and the priorities of the Brazilian G20 presidency. D20-LTIC members agreed also on a joint D20 Statement 2023, highlighting the importance of a green and just transition and the pivotal role that public and private long-term investors play in this regard.

D20-LTIC SUMMIT, BALI, 14-16 JULY 2022

The 2022 D20-LTIC Summit took place in Bali, 14-16 July 2022. D20-LTIC members met for their annual Steering Committee meeting as well participated in the second edition of the G20 Investors Dialogue co-organized by D20-LTIC, OECD, GIH and the Indonesian G20 Presidency.

The D20-LTIC Summit took place on the 14-16 of July in Bali, Indonesia.

The Club, currently made up of 25 international financial institutions with the aim of enhancing the role of financial institutions with a public and/or development mandate, will meet during the G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors meetings to make its contribution to international policies relating to infrastructure financing.

The activities kicked into gear on July 15 with the G20 Infrastructure Investors Dialogue 2022, which saw the D20-LTIC as one of the organising institutions together with the OECD, the GI Hub and the Indonesian Presidency of the G20. Taking place from 1.15 pm to 5.35 pm (WITA), this event constitutes the main moment of dialogue between G20 Member States and their stakeholders in the area of ​​financing for sustainable infrastructures in particular in developing countries. The Dialogue will also be broadcasted through the official Indonesian Minister of Finance’s youtube channel, while the event booklet which includes the updated agenda, concept note, and the bios of speakers and moderators can be accessed here.

The D20-LTIC Steering Committee is going to follow from 6.45 pm to 8.45 pm (WITA). This is the annual summit-level meeting that aims to contribute to the agenda and conclusions of the G20 Finance Ministerial. Among this year’s deliverables can be found the admittance in the Club of two new members, the Greek Hellenic Development Bank and the Indonesian PT SMI, the renewal of the positions of President and co-President of the Club and the presentation of the 2022 Joint Statement co-signed by D20-LTIC, B20 and T20.

The D20-LTIC Summit is also an opportunity for bilateral meetings among club members and stakeholders from G20 countries to explore new global opportunities for collaboration.

The D20-LTIC High-Level International Conference, promoted by the D20 Long-Term Investors Club, Cassa Depositi e Prestiti and the Italian G20 Presidency, in collaboration with B20 and T20 took place in Rome on 24 September 2021

On the occasion of the Italian G20 Presidency, the 21 members of the D20 Long-Term Investors Club provided recommendations for the G20 agenda on sustainable finance and public-private partnerships for long-term investment in infrastructure, key to the post-pandemic economic recovery.

LTIC STEERING COMMITTEE MEETING / D20-BICE CONFERENCE ON DEVELOPMENT BANKS – BUENOS AIRES, ARGENTINA, 10-11 SEPTEMBER 2018

The Heads of the LTIC members gathered for their annual LTIC Steering Committee meeting.
The meeting was hosted by BICE in Buenos Aires along with the G20 Argentinian presidency.
Following the Steering Committee meeting, a “D20/BICE conference on Development Banks” took place.

LTIC Co-President Werner Hoyer (EIB) chaired the meeting together with LTIC Co-President Hu Huaibang (CDB) and supported by LTIC Secretary-General Marjut Santoni (EIB).

Members from BNDES, CDB, CDC, CDG, CDP, DBJ, EIB, ICO, JBIC, KFW, LTIIA, TSKB and VEB attended the meeting.

Following the Steering Committee, the Heads of G20 Financial Institutions with a Development or Public Mandate (D20) agreed on the following joint “D20 Statement”.
